FOR TODD RUNDGREN'S 2004 UK TOUR!!!
After ten years away from the UK, Rock Legend Todd Rundgren, famed not only for his own catalogue of classic albums and technological pioneering via video and computers, but also as one of the world's greatest producers of all time, responsible for such momentous productions as the New York Dolls debut album, Patti Smith's Wave, XTC's Skylarking, The Tubes' Remote Control and of course, Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell, returns with his latest groundbreaking and spectacular show.
As always, with an artist noted for his genius, and insistance to continually push back the paramiters of what is possible, Todd's latest tour utilises cutting edge sound and light technology never before experienced in a concert setting. Add to that the extremely talented band of musicians currently touring with him (Kasim Sulton - Bass/Prairie Prince - Drums/John Ferenzik - Keyboards/Jesse Gress - Guitar), whose collective Curriculem Vitae reads like a Who's Who in the world of musical giants, and a collection of songs from Todd's new album LIARS - heralded by the critics as one of Rundgrens greatest ever, and definately the finest collection of songs to appear so far this year, and what you have is an opportunity to experience a moment in musical history that you will be kicking yourself over for evermore should you decline to go with your rock and roll heart and see this fabulous show!
The Bristol show at the Academy kicks off the tour on Monday 12th July - Todd's first show in the UK since the No World Order Shows in October 1994. It promises to be an exhilerating and emotional return to these shores, with Todd and his band eager to pick up where he left off - displaying the vocal and guitar virtuosity for which he has become synonomous.
Far off in the future when the history books recall this age, it will not be the boy bands and pop idols that are placed alongside Leonardo and Mozart. A glimmer of how things should be will be available for all to appreciate when Todd gets 'the Maestro treatment' with his genius given the respect it deserves in Birmingham at the city's magestic Symphony Hall on Wednesday 14th July.
When the tour gets to Glasgow On Saturday 17th July, all hell breaks loose!
This is the first time in twenty years that Todd has played Scotland, and 25 years since he appeared in Glasgow itself. For the vast contingent of Scottish fans, this night promises to be the party of the century!
Since the early 80's Todd has concluded his UK Tours in Manchester. Despite giving his all every night with a highly energtic performance, there is always something left in the vault for his now traditional farewell to these shores. This time, the honour of host to this special moment in Todd history falls to the Bridgewater Hall on Sunday 18th July.
To commemorate this all too rare event Carling Academy and Kennedy Street Enterprises are offering 3 pairs of tickets for each of the following dates on Todd Rundgren's UK Tour in this exclusive competition.
