World Wide Epiphany

This was a brilliant show that lasted ninety minutes and was well worth waiting for five hours for (as I didn't know what time they were due on stage!). They came on promptly at 6.30 with all three of them wearing sunglasses (as they were facing the sun) but fortunately Kasim took his off after a couple of tracks. They were all wearing all black again (Todd had his long coat on to start with) and Kasim wore a loose shirt over a T-shirt which he later took off. It made a nice change to see them play in daylight although Todd complained that he had to have dinner at 3.30!
Todd's voice was 100% better today and he only managed to break a string once! They started off with the usual opening three tracks and then it seems very much whatever Todd fancies playing as he keeps telling Kasim and Trey the next song! It's interesting to see that Kasim often seems to remind Trey which song is which by singing some of it and it's Kasim that constantly gets the sound guys to change the sound levels (sometimes on Todd's instructions).

An unexpected new song to the set list for this tour was There Goes My Inspiration. Only Kasim and Todd sang on this but the music didn't sound quite right to me. There were a lot of children at this gig and a lot of people who didn't necessarily know Todd's music. Even as they played the intro of There Goes My Inspiration someone was requesting that they play some old songs!
I think that there was a child who was playing air guitar at the side of the stage as Kasim was encouraging the kid which was fun to watch! At one stage, Kasim was having a swig of water back by the drums when Todd started the strumming into Trapped so Kasim had to run to the microphone in time for the first line! He performed the mimes again tonight too!

After an hour, Kasim and Trey went off stage while Todd entertained us by himself. For the second song, he told the same Hawaii story but this time brought out a Yuekele to play for Bang The Drum.
There were more Utopia tracks today but, surprisingly, Todd omitted One World. There was just a one song encore tonight of the usual World Wide Epiphany.
