Kasim first played with Todd Rundgren when he joined Utopia in 1976. Although the story is that originally Todd did not want Kasim in the band, they have since worked together more than the other members of the band.

Kasim has frequently toured with Todd Rundgren, including the A Cappella (1985), With A Twist (1997/98), Half Twisted (1999) and Power Trio (2000) tours.

Kasim has also appeared on several Todd Rundgren albums.
