Kasim Sulton on Richie Sambora's Undiscovered Soul Tour
Melbourne Palace, Melbourne
Wednesday 24th June
I caught a taxi out to St Kilda which is on the outskirts of Melbourne where the Melbourne Palace was situated - the taxi driver got lost twice! I got there at 7.30 and they opened the doors at 8.00 – it was bitterly cold and windy waiting outside. When I got in, most people had made their way to the bar to warm up a bit so I managed to get a spot at the front of the stage! I took some photos of the concert too.
They had the same support band as the previous night who sounded a lot better as I could actually hear the music and not just a distorted noise.

Richie Sambora was on stage from about 11.00 until 1.05 am (I wonder if all Australian concerts go on so late) and it was a brilliant concert – my favourite of all the Australian ones. They did the two encores again and in the middle did an improntu bit of Richie Sambora taking off Elvis singing some of Don’t Be Cruel!
Kasim was wearing his black trousers, a black jumper with no sleeves, his black and white patterned shirt and black suede boots (as I was actually close enough to see his feet!). At one point Kasim had finished both his small bottles of water (it did get warm in there) so he mimed to a roadie who threw him another bottle which he deftly caught in one hand – I doubt that I’d have even caught it with both!
I really enjoyed the three Australian concerts that I went to and I thought that the Australian audiences were both very responsive and polite!
I call this my 'Withered Arm' Photo of Kasim!
Looking Serious
Concentrating

He walked away just as I took this one!
