I was worried that tonight's concert may have felt a bit of a let down after last night's brilliant Millennium concert but I needn't have worried! Although a lot of the hall had been cleared up there were still pieces of foil confetti around!

It started fifteen minutes late tonight but after Home by Now (it's nice to see that Meat always pauses after he mentions Jim Steinman's name at that part of the concert, to allow us to give him a round of applause) and Life is a Lemon they sang Objects in the Rear View Mirror. The song sounded great but for 90% of the song a bright orange light was shining constantly into the audience which was very uncomfortable for everybody where I was sitting! I actually looked forward to that song ending because of it! Lighting guys please take notice!

Meat got a lady up on stage to jive with him during Hot Patootie but she kept slipping out of his hands so he demonstrated jiving with Patti. He then went back to the other lady but she still slipped away from his grasp!

You Took the Words was really hilarious tonight! Meat started chatting to a guy in my row but an older lady (Jan) sitting by him started calling out to Meat to get her "daughter in law" Ellen Rosey (who is on the Loafdom list) up on stage. Instead Meat decided to get Jan up to lie on the piano! As she refused, Meat came down into the audience and made all of us in the row stand in the aisle so that he could go in and carry her up over his shoulder! Unfortunately he slipped as he went up the steps! Poor Ellen was really cringing at this point and just gulped back a glass of beer! When Jan was on the stage, there was just no way that Meat could have got her to do the Hot Summer Night speech (as he said himself he'd "bitten off more than he could chew"!) so instead he just did the first and last lines!

Meat then called another five people up on stage and the band played You Took the Words. During this Jan was dancing by the microphone and then chatting with Patti and sitting on Kasim's stool! Meat then got a load more people up on stage to sing - the English were bravely represented once again by Anne and Susan! During all this Jan was dancing and then imitating Meat's singing movements behind him which was so funny!

Some guy asked tonight who that amazing guy was on the lead guitar so Meat cottoned onto the fact it was Damon's brother, Peter asking! He jokingly said that he had now been fired and when he came to introduce the band he just called Damon "Peter's brother"!

Kasim came to the front of the stage a lot tonight (great photo opportunities!) and he seemed to find the whole Jan episode hilarious!
