21.15 - A synopsis of the online chat tonight has been added to the Gigs section of the site.
13.15 - In Germany this week Meat Loaf's album Couldn't Have Said It Better has dropped from #17 to #24 and the single of the same name has dropped from #80 to #96. The highest positions for both were 8 and 80 respectively. Many thanks to Michael Marxen for this info.
11.15 - Meat Loaf's single Couldn't Have Said It Better is still #2 in the UK Rock Single Charts but is not in the UK Single Charts.
11.00 - Meat Loaf's album Couldn't Have Said It Better on which Kasim plays bass and sings background vocals on most of the tracks (plus receives 23 mentions on the liner notes) has dropped from #4 to #12 on the UK Album Charts.
09.15 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated with the news that Kasim will definitely not be playing the Muskegon Summer Celebration Festival on 4th July, that the promo gig in Plymouth, England will definitely be on Saturday 5th July (the venue has cancelled line dancing that was previously booked for that date!) and a link to tickets for the Party In The Park concert on 6th July.
08.30 - There's a nice blurb about Kasim Sulton on The Mirror Of The Soul.com website. Click here to view it but, as it will disappear off the front page soon, it says:
"Kasim Sulton (musical director for Meat Loaf & The Neverland Express) will be taking time out of his unbelievable busy schedule of keeping up with all of the promotion for the new Meat Loaf CD, Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself. Besides trying to keep the band in line during all of the various television and radio appearances they have been making, Kasim is also busy trying to put the finishing touches on the Meat Loaf: Couldn't Have Said It Better (The Final Tour). As if that is not enough, rumor has it that Kasim is working on the follow-up to his critically acclaimed solo CD, Quid Pro Quo. We would like to thank Kasim very much for taking time out of his hectic life to take a few moments to chat with us, answer our questions, and just to generally be an all around great guy!"

07.45 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated with ticketing details for some of the concerts.

Friday 2nd May 2003
06.30 - Another concert in Belfast, NI has been added to the tour schedule. The Gigs section of the site has been updated with the details.

Back when this site was called "Kasim Sulton - A Fan's View" there was a section called "Fans Encounters With Kasim" that contained the stories of when fans had met Kasim. As that site is now closed, I thought it an idea to bring some of those across here for people to enjoy again:
Robert Henry - 7/1/00
What started out as a disastrous night, turned out to be a memorable one to say the least.

My wife Karen and I decided to bring our daughters along with us to the Hobart, IN Power Trio concert. It being an outdoor show, and only about 50 minutes from South Bend, it seemed like the thing to do. When we arrived about 2 & 1/2 hours before start time, we were informed that no kids were allowed in the gate, with or without parents. My nine-year-old Taylor instantly broke into tears, and my twelve-year-old Rachel became despondent. So we regrouped at a near-by pizza place. We decided that we would go back and watch from outside the fence.

We set up a blanket directly behind the stage. We were only about 15 feet from behind the drum riser. After enduring one of the worst opening acts I've ever witnessed, a Jeep Cherokee pulled up with Todd, Kasim, and Trey in tow. We waved as they were let through, and Kasim smiled and waved back. That brought the troops spirits up. We watched them mill about the backstage area before they went on.

When Todd started into his acoustic songs, Kasim walked by the fence. The girls asked him for his autograph, waving their paper and pens around. He walked right over and asked the girls their names. They told him and he signed them both. He then went on to guess their ages, and nailed them correctly! He then tried guessing the month of their birthdays, and actually came fairly close. He asked us why we didn't come in, and we explained the 21 and over thing. He shook our hands and walked over to where Trey was standing by the stage. Trey and Kasim had a short conversation during Cliche. Trey then set two folding chairs on the stage next to the bass rig. Kasim walked back over to me and asked if I would like to give the girls a treat. He said,"I'd like to sit the girls on stage with me if that's alright." I just about freaked. So we lifted them over, and they sat next to Kasim the whole show. Karen and I were just beaming. He had them stay up there throughout the encore. It was totally surreal.

Afterward, he walked them back over, and went on about how sweet the girls are, and that we should be extremely proud. We talked for a little bit more. I explained that Karen and I were on stage for the Tikki Tour, so now the whole family has been up on stage for a Todd show. Kasim said it's a family tradition now. He gave us his personalized guitar picks and said goodbye. The end to an amazing night.

As far as Kasim's gesture, it was one of the most generous acts of kindness I have witnessed. The guy is a sweetheart, and I mean that in a very hetero way. We will never forget it.

Thursday 1st May 2003
12.30 - Kasim Sulton's bass playing on Paradise By The Dashboard Light will be heard on a series of adverts for General Motors according to an article on AdAge.com. There will be 60 and 30 second TV spots for the campaign which runs from today until 22nd July.
11.00 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated as several new Meat Loaf concerts (that hopefully Kasim will be opening!) have been added and a couple have changed their dates.
06.30 - Click here if you missed Meat Loaf's acoustic performance (with Kasim playing his Fender bass and singing background vocals) on The Janice Long Show last night. The link is likely to only be valid for today and the section is about 20 minutes into the show.
06.15 - As the post about photos of Kasim on top of the bus on KasimInfo.com has been top of the messageboard attached to KasimSulton.com for a few days now, I might consider re-opening the board soon!

Wednesday 30th April 2003
10.45 - Party In The Park has been confirmed for Sunday 6th July (tickets go on sale tomorrow) so it is unknown whether the Plymouth promo concert will be held on Friday 4th or Saturday 5th July.
10.30 - The first Meat Loaf concert for Dublin, Ireland has been added for 2nd Decmber. Tickets go on sale on Saturday. The Gigs section of the site has been updated with the details.
06.30 - Currently on MLUKFC.com there is a thread about Kasim Sulton being a support act for Meat Loaf (or not!).

07.00 - Apparently there are problems with KasimSulton.com this morning. The fluffboard is still working but the link on the site isn't working so access it via is http://24.106.61.70/cgi-bin/kasim/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=DCForumID2&conf=DCConfID1.
06.00 - I couldn't resist adding this about Kasim - it works better on Internet Explorer than Netscape.
05.45 - Some more photos have been added to "The Making Of The CD" photo album on the front page of KasimSulton.com (unfortunately only one photo of Kasim) or click here for the direct link.

When I first set up KasimInfo.com, Jennifer Salyer kindly designed some logos. The one chosen is below but I thought it a shame not to put on the site at least once her hard work

Sunday 27th April 2003
14.00 - Meat Loaf's single Couldn't Have Said It Better has dropped out of the UK Singles Charts after being a new entry at #31 last week. However Meat Loaf has posted that they are "going to re-release the single with a new mix in a few weeks".
11.15 - Meat Loaf's album Couldn't Have Said It Better is a new entry at #4 in the UK Album Charts - nice to have Kasim back in the Top 5 in a UK chart!
11.00 - Meat Loaf's single Couldn't Have Said It Better has dropped from #1 to #2 in the UK Rock Charts.
10.15 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated.
07.45 - On Wednesday 16th April Kasim Sulton recorded a short acoustic set as part of Meat Loaf's band for Capital Gold. Apparently this was broadcast last Friday (despite no mention being made of it on their website). Thankfully there are plans to put a copy of it on some websites so when they are added, a link will be put on KasimInfo.com.

16.00 - Click here for an 11 second clip of Kasim with Meat Loaf's band going through their (supposed) pre-show routine.
09.15 - Click here for photos and video clips of Kasim Sulton singing on top of a bus yesterday afternoon.
02.30 - There is now some doubt about whether Kasim Sulton will be playing the Muskegon Summer Celebration Festival (with Meat Loaf) on 4th July or the Cleveland concert (which had not been confirmed) as Meat Loaf has said that he will be playing Party In The Park (a massive one day pop festival in UK) with a promo concert in Plymouth, England the day before. More details will be added to the site as soon as they are known.

Kasim Sulton on a bus!
A very brief shot of Kasim Sulton on the ITV news in London last night
(Unfortunately I was shown for about the same amount of time as he was!)

Friday 25th April 2003
19.00 - Click here for a 15 second video clip of Kasim singing Couldn't Have Said It Better (and mouthing that he was soaking wet!) on top of a London bus this afternoon! More clips and photos of this event will be added to the site tomorrow.
09.00 - Click here for a photo by Sven of Kasim at the Amsterdam concert.
08.00 - Meat Loaf has said to keep this quiet but if anyone is in London this afternoon and would like to see Kasim on top of a bus, click here.
07.15 - Kasim Sulton has sent a message to his mailing list stating that he will be opening for Meat Loaf on the dates that Cindi Lauper is not playing!
06.45 - The article that mentions Kasim Sulton (below) is now online. Click here for the direct link.

Thursday 24th April 2003
14.15 - Kasim Sulton today received a mention in Metro (a free newspaper in London, England):
"From Pub Singer To Real Dead Ringer
A little known singer whose last performance was in a Glasgow bar has been plucked from obscurity to perform with Meat Loaf. Sara Douglas was stunned to be asked to be backing singer for the rock star after stumbling on a contact for his musical director and bass player Kasim Sulton on the Internet.
After an exchange of e-mails, he listened to her demo songs posted on the web and offered advice on her musical career.
Sara, 25, from Kinning Park, Glasgow received a call a week later saying Meat Loaf's band were a backing singer short for their UK tour of radio and television stations.
Now, after performing regularly on a Friday night at the Old Toll Bar at Paisley Road Toll she has been catapulted to stardom -and last night performed in Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall in front of 6,000 people. She said: "I'm overwhelmed. It's the last thing I thought would happen. Not everyone gets the chance to work with someone of the calibre of Meat Loaf. To get the chance to sing with a guy who has sold 13 million albums is unbelievable."
"
Many thanks to Will Van der Byl for this info.
08.00 - The set list for Kasim Sulton's gig with Meat Loaf last night has been added to the Gigs section of the site. Review(s) and photos to follow.

Wednesday 23rd April 2003
00.15 - Despite the single's low chart entry it has been confirmed that Kasim Sulton will be on Top Of The Pops on Friday on UK television. The Gigs section of the site has been updated.

Tuesday 22nd April 2003
09.15 - A little walk down Memory Lane but back when this site used to be Kasim Sulton - A Fan's View, there was a voting booth for people to vote for their favorite Kasim Sulton solo song. This was pre 2001 so didn't include any of the new songs from Quid Pro Quo. Click here to see the results (and vote if you wish) but after 818 votes, the winner was Prove It with 14.1% of the vote (116 votes) and the runner-up was All The Right Reasons with 13.2% (108 votes).
09.00 - Roadie, the Meat Loaf / Alice Cooper movie that Kasim Sulton appears in is now available on DVD. Click here for the direct link on Amazon.com (please note that KasimInfo.com makes no money from these sales).

Monday 21st April 2003
17.45 - There's a new video of Kasim on the front page of KasimSulton.com. Basically he says that he returns to New York in about a week and then goes straight into rehearsals for the Meat Loaf tour which doesn't bode well for the "few errant live shows" which we were all looking forward to seeing.
12.15 - The ToddRundgren-GroknRollUtopia Yahoo Group currently has some photos of Kasim from circa 1977 - 1979 in their photo album (you have to be a member but you can easily sub and then unsub to view them). The photos are in the folders called Belmont, Central and Palladium.
06.30 - MeatLoafOnLine.com has a Kasim Sulton quote on its main page. As it will disappear at some point, it says:
"Meat Loaf is going to surprise people with this one. This is some very slammin' rock`n' roll. I can honestly say that this is gonna be a great record and a lot of people are gonna be surprised.
Kasim Sulton
"
06.15 - Jennifer Salyer now has an Ecard on her Meat Loaf multimedia website that mentions Kasim singing background vocals. Click here for the direct link.

Sunday 20th April 2003
11.55 - The Meat Loaf single Couldn't Have Said It Better (which features Kasim Sulton on bass and background vocals) entered the official singles chart at #31 today. (It is apparently #1 in the Rock charts). The fact that it entered the chart so low is probably due to the distribution problems that they had for the first few days it was released and the fact that it has had very little airplay.
11.00 - According to a post at MLUKFC.com the Meat Loaf album Couldn't Have Said It Better (on which Kasim plays bass and sings background vocals on most of the tracks) is at #66 in the charts this week in Holland. The single is released there tomorrow.

Saturday 19th April 2003
06.30 - There have been horrendous distribution problems in UK for the new Meat Loaf single Couldn't Have Said It Better (on which Kasim plays bass and sings background vocals with Todd Rundgren amongst others). As UK is Meat Loaf's biggest market, the success or otherwise of this single could have a direct impact on the chances of the album being released in US on a major label. For that reason, if you were considering purchasing the single anyway, the fans at MLUKFC.com suggest that you buy TODAY at HMV.co.uk in order to get the single placed as high as possible in the charts this first week. (Amazon.co.uk are not shipping until next week so the sales will not count for the chart tomorrow.) The cost is £2.99 = about $5.

Friday 18th April 2003
12.00 - Kasim Sulton's and Tommy Hambridge's song Sometimes Love Is A Dangerous Thing has been covered by Susan Angeletti on her album Feel Like Rockin' Tonight (to be renamed Bittersweet when it is released to national radio). Click here to read her bio (that mentions Kasim). To order the CD e-mail order@susanangeletti.com (no price is listed on the site).
07.15 - The Mirror Of The Soul website has a MP3 of Tear Me Down from The Johnnie Walker Show on Wednesday so you can hear Kasim's brilliant solo vocals.
