17.15 - Some more photos have been added to "The Making Of The CD" photo album on the front page of KasimSulton.com or click here for the direct link.
16.30 - Another new Meat Loaf concert for Kasim Sulton has been discovered on the Internet! It's on Friday 5th December at Odyssey Arena, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tickets go on sale next Saturday. The Gigs section of the site has been updated with the details.
14.30 - 40 minutes of 80s videos certainly answered the question below - it seems that it was the recording of Top Of The Pops2 today.
12.00 - There appears to be some confusion about Top Of The Pops2 on BBC television (UK) tonight. On KasimSulton.com it says "Thursday is Top Of The Pops II live, full band playing our respective hearts out" but the listed edition is totally different as it shows a recorded programme.
09.45 - Unfortunately the Meat Loaf album Couldn't Have Said It Better (on which Kasim plays bass and sings background vocals on most of the tracks) has dropped to #16 in the German album charts (it entered last week at #8).
09.15 - Photos and a review of the taping of Today With Des and Mel has been added to the Gigs section of the site or click here for the direct link.
06.45 - Unfortuntely it appears that The Johnnie Walker Show on BBC Radio 2 that Kasim performed live (with Meat Loaf) yesterday does not add past shows to their website. However the other show that they recorded for BBC Radio 2 does, plus MP3s of the main parts of Kasim singing will be added to KasimInfo.com towards the end of May when the multimedia section of the site fully opens. (As promised last year, MP3s of some interviews by Kasim will be added then too.)

Wednesday 16th April 2003
15.00 - The News section of the site has been updated about Kasim's online chat and radio performance on national UK radio this afternoon.
11.45 - The earlier items from this page have been moved to a new page (the link is at the bottom) so it should load quicker.
11.30 - KasimInfo.co.uk is open again after the server problems.
06.30 - Ticketmaster are listing a new Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton will be playing. It's in Anaheim on 28th June. The Gigs section of the site has been updated with the details.
Tuesday 15th April 2003
17.45 - On the sidebar of the front page of KasimSulton.com there is a link to a new(?) interview in Milwaukee's Vital Source Magazine. Click here for the direct link.
11.00 - The KasimInfo.co.uk part of the site is currently down. The hosting company have a telephone message that says that their "ISP is having trouble with their DNS router and they are looking into it ASAP" (isn't English a beautiful language?!!). It means that currently parts of the site that use that server (e.g. Photos and the Diary) will be showing error messages.
10.30 - On the messageboard attached to MLUKFC.com there has been a recent thread called "Where's Kasim???????".
10.15 - Sorry about the incorrect info yesterday about the repeat of Today With Des and Mel as apparently another edition was shown instead.

Kasim Sulton on Today With Des and Mel yesterday
Monday 14th April 2003
17.30 - Kasim's performance this afternoon on Today With Des and Mel will be repeated on ITV at 2.10am BST on ITV1.
15.45 - The News section of the site has been updated about Kasim's TV show today.
02.15 - The Sphere Sound Records website has been updated with "Kasim Sulton's Quid Pro Quo, on Sphere Sound® Records, is the winner of the 2003 Kweevak.com Viewers Choice Award ! Congratulations, Kasim !".
Sunday 13th April 2003
15.45 - The News section of the site has been updated.
11.00 - A Meat Loaf concert (that Kasim will be playing) has been booked for 9th August in Mexico City, Mexico. The Gigs section of the site has also been updated.
10.00 - Some more videos of Utopia have been added to the Todd Rundgren Hot Toddies website since I last posted about it on this page. They are clips of Utopia singing Black Maria, The Last Ride, The Verb To Love and Money. Kasim can be seen in a lot of the shots of Todd Rundgren but the only close-up of Kasim is in the video of The Verb To Love.
08.30 - The Gigs section of the site has also been updated as it appears that some items that were listed are not public appearances (open to fans) and for one Meat Loaf item that was listed Kasim Sulton will not be attending so it has been removed.
Saturday 12th April 2003
05.45 - The airing of part of the Meat Loaf concert in Cologne, Germany that Kasim Sulton played bass, sang background vocals and mixed will now be streamed live on the Internet. Click here for the direct link. It airs from 5.05pm until 6.00pm EST tomorrow. The Gigs section of the site has also been updated with the details. Many thanks to Michael Marxen and Eva Siebert for this info.
Friday 11th April 2003
19.00 - Another concert for Kasim playing with Meat Loaf has been added. It's on Thursday 27th Nocember at SECC Arena, Glasgow, Scotland. Tickets are now on sale and the Gigs section of the site has been updated with the details.
06.30 - It appears that Kasim will not be at the Hard Rock Cafe appearance in Stockholm tonight so that item has been removed from the Gigs section of the site.
06.00 - There's a lovely two page spread (including 4 photos) about Kasim Sulton in the current edition of the Meat Loaf UK Fan Club newsletter (which will be added to this page soon). Also, on the "News Update" page there is the following section:
"Congratulations to Kasim
Quid Pro Quo won the 2003 Viewer's Choice Award at Kweevak.com. Viewers of the site were invited to vote during the whole of February for their favourite album of the year out of the 256 CDs nominated.
Quid Pro Quo won with 727 votes which is over 12% of the vote (last years winner only received 4% of the total vote).
To order Quid Pro Quo see details on the Kasim info page in this issue.
Our warmest congratulations to Kasim from everyone at MLUKFC on this wonderful achievement!"

The old KasimSulton.com messgeboard
Thursday 10th April 2003
19.00 - There were a couple of interesting posts about Kasim on the ToddRundgren-GroknRollUtopia Yahoo mailing list. Click here and here to read the whole messages but the main parts were:
"Some folks are just of the Todd variety, but it was what developed w/
Kasim on bass and vocals that helped me catch the Todd/Utopia bug. When I
look at my history in this area from 1981 on forward it is blatant that Kasim was the true
catalyst for my entertainment dollar.
After all that time I got to meet the guy and he was so terriffic as a
performer and as a person that I wanted to contuinue in that Utopian ideal
on his site".
and
"I don't think there can be any doubt what Kasim brought to the table for
Utopia. They were looking for a bassist (which he wasn't until he auditioned
BTW), and ended up with a talented vocalist, Multi-instrumentalist, and
strong pop-song writer. His Set Me Free was the biggest hit the band had and
topped some of Todd's solo sales achievements.
It's no wonder after the frustration with Bearsville that he sought out on
his own. But Electra didn't have the muscle (or backing for him as a solo
act) that he needed to break out. Also, I would conjecture that virtually
all of his fans being Utopia fans as well, there was a magnetism back to
fold. People loved Kasim, but as a part of Utopia. No one can say for sure.
In person I have found Kasim to be a little hot or cold depending on the
day. Sometimes he was so aloof I wondered if he gave a sh!t about anything.
Other times (and from other accounts) he's so warm and open and friendly
it's like be welcomed as a member of the family. (I don't know, maybe he
just didn't like me the first time I saw him because I was looking for Todd
and I didn't have a picture of Kasim for him to sign. After that, I always
carried renderings of the whole band.)
One thing that has struck me is if someone as talented, as appealing to the
girls, and active as he is can't make it solo, then it's pretty obvious
having success in the music biz is one of the greatest flukes of all time. I
don't mean to infer that Kaz is not successful--years of tours for everyone
from Meat Loaf, to Joan Jett, to Hall & Oates is proof he is no slouch! But
he never broke out as a solo act despite all he had going for him.
I guess the question is in order to make it, do you have to have a sugar
daddy like an Albert Grossman, Tommy Mottola, or Clive Davis in the
background? Sales and promotion may suck, but I don't think there is any
case to be made against its importance in the scheme of things."
10.45 - Currently on E-Bay.com there is a copy of the Kasim cassette available. The opening bid is $9.99 and the auction ends on 16th April.
07.00 - Apparently Meat Loaf will be appearing at the Hard Rock Cafe in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday from 5.00pm onwards. He will be interviewed on the radio and will perform one song live. Later that evening he is supposed to be performing a full set according to a message posted by Louise Arvidsson. As Kasim may or may not be there, details have been added to the Gigs section of the site.
06.30 - Meat Loaf's new album Couldn't Have Said It Better (on which Kasim plays bass and sings background vocals on most of the tracks) entered the album charts in Germany at #8.
06.15 - Another clip featuring Kasim has been added to the Todd Rundgren Hot Toddies website since I last posted about it on this page. It's of Kasim singing lead vocals on Love Alone.
05.45 - Kasim Sulton has made his first post to the new messageboard attached to KasimSulton.com:
"New Board
Hey Guys, Well as you can see we have a new Message Board. I know we all have to register again, as I did, but it will be worth it in terms of new features and functionality.
I know the only way you could be reading this is if you've already taken a second to re-register, thanks.
One thing I forgot to mention in my front page message was a new TR site that has gone up in the past few days.... Debbie from Pittsburgh sent me the link and it has some fuzzy yet pretty interesting video clips on it.
If you'd like to see me getting hit on by Shelly Winters go to: http://www.seahaas.com/toddrundgren/video.html
It's a hoot!
So..... have fun with the new board and lets get to 42 pages ASAP!
Kasim
KS"
(Unless they change the settings, you do not have to register in order to read the board but only people who are registered can post. Also the correct URL for the Todd Rundgren Hot Toddies website is http://www.seahaas.com/toddrundgren/videovault.html.) As lots of people don't have the time to plough through irrelevant posts that always happen on messageboards, as with the previous messageboard any interesting topics or posts by Kasim will be posted on this site.
Wednesday 9th April 2003
20.30 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated with four new promotional appearances and three new US Meat Loaf concerts for Kasim.
20.00 - There's a new message from Kasim Sulton on the front page of KasimSulton.com.
14.00 - Four new potential appearances have been discovered for international musician Kasim Sulton - they are in Sweden, Germany and UK. The Gigs section of the site has been updated, however as the single / album promotion is forever changing, it is very difficult to keep track of which appearances Kasim will be involved in so anybody wishing to attend any should ensure first that Kasim will actually be there.
12.45 - The new messageboard attached to KasimSulton.com is open.
03.30 - The Kasim Sulton 24 Hour Poll has now closed. Many thanks to all who voted. Other polls on different topics will be added periodically. The results were:
What is your favorite track on Quid Pro Quo? (58 total votes cast)
1) We The People (14 votes)
2) The One Sure Thing (11 votes)
3) Sacrifice (10 votes)
Which clothes do you prefer seeing Kasim wear on stage? (83 total votes caast)
1) Bright colored shirt, black pants (14 votes)
2) All black (11 votes)
3) White shirt and jeans (10 votes)
3) Bare chest and jeans (10 votes)
Obviously we all prefer it when Kasim Sulton plays solo shows but, if he has to play with someone else, who do you prefer to see him on stage with? (99 total votes cast)
1) A Utopia Reunion (25 votes)
2) Todd Rundgren (21 votes)
3) Meat Loaf (14 votes)
Tuesday 8th April 2003
19.15 - And Kasim himself has made a post on the messageboard attached to KasimSulton.com.
18.30 - KasimSulton.com is open again.
11.30 - The release of Meat Loaf's new single Couldn't Have Said It Better has been brought forward in Europe to 14th April.
09.30 - The Kasim Sulton 24 Hour Poll has been closed with two new ones in its place. The result of the previous poll are on the page too.
03.30 - Sadly Anthony Rogers is closing down his Todd Rundgren and Utopia trading network. His pages will still up for a while longer and they in themselves are a great source of info about gigs and set lists.
Monday 7th April 2003
19.15 - I've always been told that Before She Was Gone is the strongest song on Quid Pro Quo and yet it's trailing behind on the Kasim Sulton 24 Hour Poll.
19.00 - I forgot to add that the messageboard on KasimSulton.com will have a new link. As most people hit the messageboard directly, remember that your bookmarks won't work when the site is on the new server.
17.45 - This is a message from the webmaster of KasimSulton.com:
"We’re currently moving the site to a new server. Changing the DNS takes about 24 hours.
We’ll also have a new messageboard link when we’re back up in the next day."
13.45 - As people are missing the messageboard on KasimSulton.com today a Kasim Sulton 24 Hour Poll has been added to the site. (Many thanks to Sandi Daae for the original idea.) If it proves popular other polls on different topics will be added periodically.
13.30 - Laura England has updated her website about Quid Pro Quo winning the Kweevak.com Viewers Choice Award.
10.00 - The front page of Kweevak.com has been updated to mention KasimSulton.com and that there's "a video message thanking his fans for voting!!!".
07.15 - No, it's not your computer - KasimSulton.com has been down for a couple of hours.
06.15 - Bjorn Hodges currently has a video of the whole of Kasim's appearance on The National Lottery Wright Ticket Show on Saturday.
05.00 - Another new Meat Loaf concert has been added for UK. It's on 30th November at the Manchester Evening News Arena. Tickets went on sale over the weekend but currently are only available on the telephone and not online. The Gigs section of the site has been updated.
04.45 - It now appears more likely that Kasim will be appearing on The Des and Mel Show on UK television next Monday instead of today.
Sunday 6th April 2003
10.15 - A couple of videos featuring Kasim Sulton have been added to the Todd Rundgren Hot Toddies website. There's one of Utopia singing The Very Last Time (with several close-ups of Kasim) and the infamous Shelley Winters clip where she remarks on his name.
10.00 - Just on a personal note, it's wonderful at the moment to be able to turn on the radio and hear Kasim's voice on UK radio! In UK they never play anything by Utopia and rarely old Meat Loaf songs so since 1996 Kasim's voice has hardly be heard! Already the single Couldn't Have Said It Better has been added to the playlist on Virgin Radio (it's especially good as you can hear Kasim amd Todd singing together!).
05.45 - The Meat Loaf concert that Kasim Sulton will be playing in Amsterdam, Holland on 23rd April has been confirmed.

Kasim Sulton on The National Lottery Wright Ticket Show last night
Saturday 5th April 2003
17.30 - The News section of the site has been updated, plus some photos and video clips of Kasim's TV appearance earlier today have been added.
12.15 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated as new Meat Loaf concerts have been announced for Seymour, WI, Monticello, IA, Kelseyville, CA, Syracuse, NY, Wantagh, NY, Essex Junction, VT, Holmdel, NJ and Gulfport, MS. Other gigs that were previously listed on KasimInfo.com as not confirmed have now been confirmed, plus the two gigs that were officially confirmed for Westbury, NY have been cancelled.
05.45 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated with info about TV Interactiv, TOTP (Germany), The Kelly Show, The National Lottery Wright Ticket Show, The Des and Mel Show and the Amsterdam concert.
04.30 - Kasim Sulton is expected to be on The National Lottery Wright Ticket Show tonight on BBC1 at 7.35pm in UK. Meat Loaf is listed as appearing on the show so it is assumed that he will be singing his new single Couldn't Have Said It Better and that Kasim will be there too. Meat Loaf is also listed as appearing on The Des and Mel Show on Monday lunchtime (time subject to change due to the war coverage) on ITV on UK television. It is likely that this will include another performance of Couldn't Have Said It Better and that Kasim will be there too.
Friday 4th April 2003
18.00 - The News section of the site has been updated.
12.30 - This is not confirmed but according to the Heineken Music Hall website Meat Loaf (and therefore Kasim) is playing an "unexpected concert" there on 23rd April! Tickets go on sale on 8th April. Many thanks to Ankie Folkertsma for this info.
