15 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
18.30 - Unfortunately there's some bad news from Germany as, despite all the promotion, Meat Loaf's single Did I Say That? has fallen from number 18 to 40 in the charts. Click here to view the official charts.
13.30 - The auction for the batch of albums including Kasim on E-Bay came to a close yesterday with no bids being placed again. The auction for a single copy of Kasim came to a close today with a winning price of $7.90 after two bids.

06.00 - The Gigs section of the site has been updated with links to the venues and ticketing details for the forthcoming gigs that Kasim will be playing. 05.45 - There is now a six piece band called Quid Pro Quo. Out of Fairfield County, Connecticut, they describe themselves as a "rock, funk, dance band".

17 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
18.00 - Kasim Sulton will be interviewed by Susan Masino of WJJO 94.1FM in the Madison, WI area on Sunday 23rd February at 10.05pm (9.05pm CST). This will be a short interview via telephone on the show "Local Stage" and is a repeat appearance for Kasim as he was interviewed by Susan last February too (unfortunately the station no longer streams on the Internet). This interview was instigated by the Kasim who? Yahoo group as they originally contacted the station several weeks ago while promoting Kasim's Fort Atkinson gig that was later cancelled.
17.00 - This was part of a great post by Doreen (FitBiz) to a couple of Todd Rundgren mailing lists about voting for Quid Pro Quo at Kweevak.com:
"You have until the 28th so go vote! We, the
people, (no pun intended) are his voice. This CD receives no airtime
and YOU can make a difference so turn someone/anyone (again no pun
intended) on to Kasim's CD and give the man your vote at Kweevak.com. It only takes a click of the mouse. Get going....."
06.15 - The batch of albums including Kasim is available again on E-Bay! This time it has been increased to 16 albums and the opening bid is $9.99 (currently no bids, ends 02/13). There is also a single copy of Kasim available. There has been one bid so far of $7.40 and the auction ends on 02/14.

18 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
18.15 - Kasim's news section at the MLUKFC.com website has been updated.
15.30 - Kasim gets a mention on Paul Crook's official website as there are no photos of him from the televised NBA performance! Also, to get some idea of how popular Meat Loaf is in Europe, on the tour page there are some photos of the arenas where they will be playing in Germany.
06.15 - If you haven't voted for Quid Pro Quo at Kweevak.com yet today, then please stop reading this Blog and do so now! If you have run out of your own e-mail addresses to use then e-mail SueW@KasimInfo.com and I can send you a batch. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
06.00 - Kasim's new website designers, The Mechanism have added another Kasim mention on their site. As it will disappear from the front page at some point, it says:
"January 10, 2003
themechanism helps Kasim "Make the CD"
» themechanism launched a Flash-based photographic companion to Kasim Sulton's work on Meat Loaf's upcoming CD 'Couldn't Have Said It Better.'"

20 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
21.00 - The RawFeedOnline review of Quid Pro Quo has been added to the Press section of the site.
15.15 - Click here to view some video clips of the NBA televised performance by Kasim with Meat Loaf last night. There are no close-up shots of Kasim but he can be seen in the distance during several shots and his guitar can be seen quite well!
15.00 - Just another reminder / request that people keep voting for Quid Pro Quo at Kweevak.com. This is probably the best chance that the album (and therefore Kasim) has of winning any award and it will be a shame to let the opportunity pass by due to complacency. It takes less than three minutes to set up a new, genuine e-mail account at places like Yahoo or Hotmail. You never need use the account again but it will count towards the total votes.
13.30 - There is a copy of the forthcoming advert for Ice magazine on the news page of the Sphere Sound Records website.
13.15 - Sphere Sound Records will be running some radio adverts for Quid Pro Quo. Click on the photo of the radio on their site to listen to what they will sound like.
13.00 - There's another review of Kasim Sulton's CD Quid Pro Quo online. Click here to read it. The reviewer gives the album eight marks out of ten.

09.00 - Tickets for the Fall Meat Loaf concerts in Germany were supposed to go on sale on today but only about half have so far. They all appear to be standing at the front of the arenas with seating around the sides. Many thanks to the kind person who sent this info.
08.45 - The temporary Gigs page has been updated.
Friday 7th February 2003
22 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
12.15 - The News section of the site has been updated.
08.30 - Meat Loaf has posted on the MLUKFC.com messageboard that the release of his album Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself has been brought forward in Germany from 31st to 17th March. He also said that the album will be released in UK during the first week of April and in the rest of Europe on either 17th or 31st March. There also seems to be some confusion about where the first single Did I Say That is in the German charts. Meat Loaf posted on Tuesday that it entered this week at #18, Kasim wrote that the record company told him that it entered last week (the day after it was released) at #11 and some German fans posted that it only entered the charts today, also at #18. Also, apparently it is #4 in the Saturn Media Charts (Saturn is a chain of record stores in Germany and have a chart of their biggest selling singles).
06.30 - Unfortunately I have been unable to update this site as much as I would have liked recently so it is a bit behind but that will be rectified over the next few days. The earlier Blog items have been moved to a new page - the link is at the bottom of this page.
03.30 - Some more photos have been added to the front page of Kasim's official website KasimSulton.com. There's also a fascinating four page tour diary section. Click here for the direct link.

23 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
17.30 - The first of the Meat Loaf tour dates have been announced for Germany. They are:
10/25 - Halle/Westf., Gerry-Weber-Stadion
10/27 - Frankfurt, Festhalle
10/28 - Stuttgart, Schleyerhalle
10/30 - München, Olympiahalle
11/01 - Hamburg, ColorLine Arena
11/04 - Erfurt, Messehalle
11/05 - Berlin, Velodrom
11/07 - Oberhausen, Arena
Tickets for all these concerts go on sale on Saturday (8th) but usually in Germany tickets are for General Admission as they are all standing shows. Many thanks to MLUKFC for the info and to Jennifer Salyer for spotting it on their site. Links to ticket agencies will be added as soon as they are known.
05.45 - Some photos of the preparations for the Cologne concert and VIVA Interactiv have been added to the front page of Kasim's official website KasimSulton.com or click here for the direct link.

24 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
18.00 - According to a post dated yesterday at Kweevak.com "We have already registered over 1600 votes. The system is off the charts this year as we are on pace to double last year's total amount of votes. There have been several lead changes and 5 artists have already registered over 100 votes each". As personally I know people whose total vote will be over 100, it must mean that Quid Pro Quo is in the top 5! The site also now says that Netscape users may have to use versions 6.2 and higher to see a drop-down menu.
15.45 - According to the front page of the Sphere Sound Records website there is going to be some "vivid advertising" for Quid Pro Quo in the February edition of ICE magazine which will hit the stands the last week of February. The editorial on the page is called "Quid Pro Snow" too!
15.30 - The auction on E-Bay for the 10 albums including Kasim came to a close yesterday with, once again, no bids being placed despite the opening bid being only $4.99.
15.15 - The German Meat Loaf Fan Club website has another review and some photos of the recent promo trip. Click here for Kai Holm's page. The Kasim mentions (with translation) are "Kasim war ununterbrochen, bis kurz vor 19.00 Uhr, emsig auf der Bühne mit seinen Computern beschäftigt." (Kasim was continuously, busy to briefly before 19.00 o'clock, emsig on the stage with its computers.)" and "Nach zweitem Hinsehen war klar: Meat Loaf betritt die Location! Er sofort auf die Bühne, in die hinterste Ecke zu Kasim, aus der die beiden erst nach einer halben Stunde wieder herauskamen." (After second Hinsehen was clear: Meat Loaf enters the location! It immediately on the stage, into which rear corner to Kasim, from which the two came out only after a half hour again.") The direct links to the photos of Kasim are:
Half of Kasim!

Gosh! he has long fingers!
Relief at the end of a long, hard day
Many thanks to Jennifer Salyer for sending this link.
09.45 - The German Meat Loaf Fan Club website has some reviews of the recent promo trip. Click here for the list but Eva Siebert's page has a ticket that is autographed by Kasim and the comment "Wir haben zugesehen, wie die Bühne probe-ausgeleuchtet wurde, sahen Kasim und John beim Instrumentestimmen." (which according to a translation pages says "We have, how the stage was rehearse-illuminated, saw Kasim and John watched with instrument voices."). Markus Funk's page has a photo of Kasim and the comments that he was very friendly and confirmed Bat Out Of Hell III. Karin Schelle's page contains the comment "Bis zum Beginn der Show liefen immer wieder einige Bandmitglieder auf der Bühne rum und Kasim Sulton winkte uns grinsend zu." (which according to a translation pages says "Up to the beginning of the Show some volume members on the stage rum and Kasim Sulton ran again and again signed us grinsend too.")
06.30 - Jeff Gauss possted an outline of the rider for Kasim Sulton's gig at Ken's Bar and Grill in Madison, WI in August 2001. (A rider is a list of requests or conditions that the artist makes at a venue that "rides" on the contract itself, it is up to the venue whether or not to agree with all the points.) Click here to view it (it's the second item down) but be aware that it's possible that Kasim himself didn't request them all but that his gig booker may have.
03.30 - Some photos of Cologne Cathedral (the Church of the Dom) have been added to the front page of Kasim's official website KasimSulton.com or click here for the direct link.

25 days left to vote for Quid Pro Quo in the Kweevak.com poll
13.00 - Some photos of backstage at Wetten Dass have been added to the front page of Kasim's official website KasimSulton.com or click here for the direct link.
06.00 - Currently the front page of Kweevak.com has a selection of album covers on it, including Quid Pro Quo (which stands out more than most of them!).
05.45 - Somebody (who most people seem to believe actually was Meat Loaf) posted yesterday that the release of Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself has been delayed in US until July. As it was planned to be released in April, this will probably change the tour schedule.
Monday 3rd February 2003
15.45 - Kweevak.com (who reviewed Quid Pro Quo in December) host annual CD Of The Year Awards and Quid Pro Quo has been entered by the site for the Viewer's Choice Award! The staff at Kweevak.com chose the winner in one of the categories and fans are invited to vote for the Viewer's Choice Award. Click here for the rules and here for the voting form. Each vote must have a genuine e-mail address but it appears that people can vote more than once if they have different e-mail addresses (but they "reserve the right to eliminate all votes placed in a rapid manner, from like IP addresses"). The competition ends on Friday 28th February. ONLY VOTES USING INTERNET EXPLORER WILL COUNT.
11.15 - Deb has added some photos of Kasim Sulton to her site from his concert with Meat Loaf in London last July. Click here for the direct link.
02.30 - Although everything is subject to change, Meat Loaf said in an interview in Germany recently that his (and therefore Kasim's) plans for the next few months are to tour Europe and US for the album Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself until the end of 2003, to start working on Bat Out Of Hell III in January 2004 with Jim Steinman, to play some gigs in Australia (while Steinman and producer Peter Mokran continue working on the album) and then more work on the album. Many thanks to Michael Marxen for this info. Again, although totally unsubstantiated by official sources, via comments made by Meat Loaf to various fans, it appears that the more precise schedule for 2003 is currently:
January to June - rehersals and album promotion in Europe and US
June to August - US tour
September - UK tour
October - Germany tour
November - Holland and Belgium, plus possibly a return to UK
It'll be interesting to see where they do actually tour and when!
