"... know that if Todd is playing with Kaz, then the show is a hit"
"All should make their way to see Kaz play solo. You get it ALL there"
".... how enjoyable the shows were last tour and how great the material was and how wonderful Kasim's voice is"
"....the heart of Utopia was always Todd and Kasim"
"Kasim brought his awesome voice (and I don't even need to mention the rest of his talent as a bassist and solid musician) to the group"
"Quid Pro Quo CD....it will be well worth the wait and the tour will surely be the same"
"I was also blown away by Kasim's solo performance last year so I am looking forward to the return of Kasim this Fall"

15.00 - There's a nice write-up about Kasim Sulton (complete with photo!) on the Back Stage Pass page of the WFRV TV website! Click here to view it. As it will soon disappear, it says:
"Sulton steps into the spotlight with "Quid Pro Quo"
His music career began as a teenager and now after more than 25 years in the industry, there isn't much Kasim Sulton hasn't done. Kasim's spent the better part of his career playing behind artists like Todd Rundgren, Joan Jett and Hall & Oates. This past Saturday, he was once again on stage playing bass for Meat Loaf, as he performed before a sell out Pavillion crowd at Oneida Bingo & Casino in Green Bay. In between shows, Kasim has been showcasing his own music through a series of solo gigs that have been enthusiastically received by fans. A year and a halfs worth of mini-tours and hard work have resulted in "Quid Pro Quo", a new CD on Sphere Sound Records set for release this fall. Kasim gave Green Bay fans a taste of the new record when he opened Meat Loaf's show with a three song solo set. For more information on "Quid Pro Quo" or where you can catch Kasim live click here.
"

18.00 - According to a post on the BeyondAwizard (Todd Rundgren) mailing list, Sanctuary Records has acquired the Bearsville archives (Todd Rundgren and Utopia) that were originally owned by Rhino Records and are planning to put out a number of CDs and DVDs over the coming years. These will be worldwide releases and will come with upgraded packages (sleeve notes, etc.) One of the first ones is "Utopia KSAN 1978" which will feature Kasim Sulton. Next year there are a number of DVDs planned (no titles as yet). The record company is seeking photos for the KSAN 1978 release. If you have any information of photo archives for this show, please contact Steve Hammonds. They are willing to pay for the use of any photos.

02.00 - Apparently some fans have been having problems with purchasing tickets for the Meat Loaf concerts in Atlantic City, NJ. The best advise appears to be to ring the 1-800-677-7469 number and keep trying. Officially the concerts have sold out (apparently the casino kept back far more for their highrollers than they did last year) but every so often they have returns. A better alternative is to attend Kasim's solo gigs in Alexandria, VA and Philadelphia two weeks later!

06/23/02

"Kasim Sulton's Quid Pro Quo, CD 109 on Sphere Sound® Records is due out soon. This limited edition CD will be available exclusively through our secure website. Anticipated release date is scheduled for late August 2002. "

06/21/02

16.45 - It appears that, other then the brief comment in the News section of the site, there has been no word about the concert last night anywhere on the Internet!
01.45 - There's an article in the Green Bay Press Gazette about Meat Loaf that mentions Kasim Sulton briefly twice. It says:
"Solo sets by band mates Kasim Sulton and Patti Russo will open the show."
and
"Producer Todd Rundgren assembled an all-star lineup for the recording sessions, which included Edgar Winter, Utopia’s Sulton, Ellen Foley (who later starred on TV’s “Night Court”) and the E Street Band’s Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg."

Although it is now officially in a different state, it is only about 4 miles away and tickets are still valid. The door now open at 7.00pm. See the Meat Loaf Summer Tour section of the site for full details. Many thanks to Laura England for this info.
12.30 - The first review of the Meat Loaf tour has been added to the Meat Loaf Summer Tour section of the site. As on previous tours, if you would like to submit a review (geared towards an audience of Kasim Sulton fans) or photos please e-mail SueW@KasimInfo.com. Links to other sites with concert reviews appear at the bottom of that page.

Over the next six weeks there are expected to be loads of reviews posted to the Internet about the tour. Links to sites where reviews are being posted will be added to KasimInfo.com once the reviews start appearing and any that significantly mention Kasim (good or bad) will be reported on this Blog page.
