18.15 - As posted on a Meat Loaf mailing list, Kasim Sulton receives a brief mention in an interview with Meat Loaf that appeared in The Toronto Sun today. Click here to view the interview (it also gives an indication of the format of the tour). As it may disappear at some stage, it says:
"Meat Loaf said he appears after two short sets by bassist Kasim Sulton (on acoustic guitar) and backup singer Patti Russo. "And then we all come out," he said. "And I do like an hour and fifteen minutes, and then we all sit around the piano like in your kitchen." "
14.30 - There was a good post today about Kasim Sulton on a Meat Loaf mailing list by David M. Driskell:
There was discussion about Kasim opening for Meat Loaf on the summer tour on the Jim Steinman Mail List. I thought I would share my response with you all!!! The question was asked how Meat Loaf fans who were used to EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE would react to Kas' acoustic set. Here is how I replied: I was wondering about this as well. It could be interesting. Actually, this is quite unique. You have a member of the Steinmanroyality actually being the opening act for yet another member of Steinmanroyality! I will be quite interested to see how people react to what an amazing entertainer and the superb voice of Kasim Sulton. Having chatted quite a bit with Sue from KasimInfo, she inspired me to seek out some Kasim recordings, and so far I have never been disappointed. Regretfully, he was about 45 minutes of my house a few months ago, but the show was long sold out before they even announced Kasim was to appear. :-(
I just think it is way cool that Kasim and Patti Russo are finnally getting their due from the Meat Loaf camp! Kasim has worked his ass off (in many aspects) to assist Meat Loaf's music over the years. I mean, he saved an amazing Steinmansong (Is Nothing Sacred) with his reworking of the tune and amazing production of the single version. It seems only fair that he would get to play a few of his songs. Personally, I am in rapt anticipation of QUID PRO QUO's (Kas solo album) release later this summer.
02.00 - Kasim Sulton will be holding another Internet chat on Sunday 30th June. Details will appear on KasimSulton.com later today. Please note that due to the content of the previous Internet chat the decision has been made not to publish the transcript of the 9th June chat on this site. A brief review of the chat has already been posted.
01.00 - Kasim Sulton will be interviewed by a radio station in Biloxi, Mississippi on 28th June. his interview will also be broadcast on the Internet. Click here for more details.

The One Block West, Kansas City 10/17/78 CD apparently features Kasim Sulton quite heavily. Click here to read a good review of the CD by Jeff Gauss.

The article was published today. Click here to view it. There are also links in both the Main Press section and the EPK Press section of the site. 19.00 - Currently on E-Bay.com there appears to be several copies of Lights On by Price / Sulton! Click here for a copy on vinyl and here and here for (bootleg) copies on CD. It's interesting that Kasim Sulton and not Thommy Price is the selling piint for this seller! There is also a Kasim / Meat Loaf guitar pic with the wonderful description:
"MEDIUM PINK GUITAR PICK FROM LEGENDARY BASSIST KASIM SULTON (AND HE PLAYS GUITAR REALLY WELL TOO, JUST FOR THE RECORD). THIS ONE IS FROM KASIM'S STINT WITH MEAT LOAF - HE'S BETTER KNOWN FOR BACKING TODD RUNDGREN AND TOURED WITH HALL & OATES A DECADE AGO TOO. DON'T LET YOUR MEAT LOAF TODDSTERS, GET BUSY BIDDING ! ! ! YOU WILL BE IN UTOPIA WHEN YOU ADD THIS ONE TO YOUR COLLECTION !"
10.00 - Many thanks to Janet (Pebbles) for sending this link to a review by Sambuca Bissonnette
of the Maritme Hall, San Francisco DVD which has some great comments about Kasim Sulton in it.
06.00 - Yesterday on a BeyondAwizard (Todd Rundgren) mailing list there were some posts about the possible Power TRio Tour in November. Somebody posted that they hoped that Kasim would be too busy promoting his own CD that month and the resident list joker posted that he thought that "Todd Rundgren and Prairie Prince would be a great backing band for the Quid Pro Quo tour"!
06/14/02
02.00 - I believe that this is the first time that this has happened but today there are items for the four preceding years on the This Day page of the site.

Click here to purchase it (please note that KasimInfo.com makes no money from the sale of this item) or here to read the editorial review. This was one of the items that was discussed in the Internet chat with Kasim Sulton on Sunday as it appeared that he was unaware that the DVD would be released.
02.30 - Yesterday there were several posts on both the Yahoo KasimSulton2 and Yahoo Angry's Todd Rundgren and Utopia mailing lists about the chat with Kasim Sulton on Sunday. Stephanie Regan provided a good summary in one post:
First - Kasim apologised for his CD not coming out this month. It's
being delayed until late August. Then we talked about Meat Loaf's tour this summer(Kasim will be
opening for Meat!), Rex Rundgren playing baseball, Todd Rundgren with Hall and
Oates, Kasim's Fall tour, Kasim not knowing Todd mentioned in his chat
Saturday about maybe putting the Power TRio back together for shows
in Japan this November, (Kasim said something like "Am I going to tour
in Japan this November?"), Kasim playing in a Tommy James show last
Friday night,etc..
06/10/02
02.30 - Although it does not say so on the opening page, all the Borders gigs have now been removed from KasimSulton.com. There is also now a note at the top of that page refering people to the main page of the Sphere Sound Records website to read about the delay in the release of Quid Pro Quo, click here for the actual page with the comment.
06/09/02
20.45 - Kasim Sulton tonight held an Internet chat with his fans for about 40 minutes. The full transcript will be added to the site at a later date. During the chat he said that all the Borders gigs have been cancelled due to the delay in the release of Quid Pro Quo (the Gigs sections in both the EPK and the main part of the site have now been changed), he'll be playing four songs when he opens for Meat Loaf (two of the songs will be Sacrifice and Goodbye) and that he was playing another local gig tonight. A fuller report of the chat can be found in the News section of the site. The News section of the EPK has also been updated.
17.30 - Thanks to Don Lindbergh for the correction that the possible November Power TRio will be Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton and Prairie Prince and the full quote was "except Kas and Prairie don't know it yet"!
06.30 - The "pop-up" box on the opening page has been changed due to the delay in the release of Quid Pro Quo. The press release that has been removed is still available to view in the Press section of the site.

06/08/02

06/07/02

18.00 - According to the news page of Sphere Sound Records the release of Kasim Sulton's album Quid Pro Quo has been delayed until the end of August. It is due to "legal protocol and licensing issues ".
02.30 - The two new lines on KasimSulton.com have been changed so that they are now less ambiguous (see note below).
06/06/02
15.00 - Kasim Sulton is now listed on the Artist Hunger website due to his gig in Westerly, RI. Click here to view his listing as #14 under New York. There is also a brief mention on the "Coming Events" page that says "WESTERLY, RI 09/28/02 - Watch this space for details of a special 1 of 52 Event featuring Kasim Sulton!".
12.30 - As three people have written to me about it, there appears to be some confusion about the two new lines on KasimSulton.com. It does that mean that Kasim Sulton will be one of the opening act at each Meat Loaf show on the Summer tour but that he will at the shows that are purely Meat Loaf concerts, not the festivals (all of this is also subject to the individual promoters' arrangements too).
10.00 - The opening page of the website has been changed to include the following note:
Please note KasimInfo.com is a non-profit making website and is designed purely to promote Kasim Sulton. For that reason the website reserves the right to edit copy received if it is believed that it is promoting corporate organizations or are not in the best interests of promoting Kasim Sulton.
06/05/02
18.15 - KasimInfo.com is (almost!) fully open again! There have been a lot of changes made but mainly to directory structures ready for future revamps so that the site does not have to be closed again. Most people will not notice many differences other than if they had certain pages bookmarked. The major change to the site is on the front page as it has been streamlined and an EPK (Electronic Press Kit) has been added. As several people are attempting to get more publicity for Kasim this time around and often give KasimInfo.com as a contact website, it was suggested that a compact EPK would be useful rather than this rambling 2,000+ page site! The principle behind the EPK is not to have flashy graphics but purely to provide concise, current, easy to find info for media, music professionals and people who just want a broad outline of who Kasim Sulton is. Each page is also linked to a section in this main site if they decide to delve deeper. The Kasim's Diary and the old Gigs sections of the site have been removed (the latter will reappear soon). Many thanks to Kristy Mullen and Laura England for all their help over the past few days.
16.00 - About a week after the dates were first announced on KasimInfo.com and KasimSulton.com, Pollstar have finally added the new solo dates for Kasim Sulton! Click here to view it.
13.30 - There were several posts on various Meat Loaf and Todd Rundgren mailing lists and boards in the past 24 hours about people saying that they are looking forward to the chat with Kasim Sulton on Sunday!
06/04/02
15.15 - Kasim Sulton will be holding a pre-tour, pre-CD release Internet chat in the Yahoo KasimSulton2 chatroom! It will be this coming Sunday (9th) at 8.00pm NYC time (5.00pm Pacific). You need a Yahoo ID and to join that group but it's is free to join and instructions are on that page. If you have to miss the chat, a transcript will be added to KasimInfo.com at a later date.
13.30 - Kasim Sulton has confirmed that he WILL be playing the gig with Tommy James on 10th August in Des Moines, IA. Venue and ticketing details are in the Kasim Sulton's 2002 Gigs with Tommy James section of the site.
08.15 - Full venue and ticketing details for Kasim Sulton's gig with Tommy James on 15th June in Denver, Colorado has now been added to the Kasim Sulton's 2002 Gigs with Tommy James section of the site. Many thanks to Laura England for providing this info.

12.00 - An item has been added to the News section of the site about Kasim Sulton's gig last night.
06/01/02
20.00 - Kasim Sulton (with photo) is now listed on the website for Hamilton Street Cafe and Stage! It's currently right at the bottom of the schedule page - click here to view it.
19.45 - There is currently a Runtime Error on the Index page of KasimSulton.com. However by clicking "no" to not debug, the page will become visible.

16.30 - Apparently there are rumors going around in Ireland that Picture House (who opened for Meat Loaf on his Greatest Hits Tour in 1999) will again be the opening act, therefore there is some doubt whether or not Kasim will be opening too.
