23.55 - Under the auspicices of the new "founders" (!) of the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board there were ten posts today, mainly about favorite Kasim Sulton songs, especially The One Sure Thing.
23.50 - In reference to the people who have e-mailed me, yes, it appears that unfortunately Kasim Sulton's official website KasimSulton.com appears to currently be down.
22.15 - The News and Announcements page of a fan-run website for the band Isle of Q mentions that Doug Kennedy will be playing with Kasim Sulton at his gig at The Tin Angel in Philadelphia on 15th August.
22.00 - There's an interesting short interview (and photo) with Kasim Sulton in the most recent edition of Wisconsin's popular magazine Maximum Ink. I've added a link to the interview to the Articles / Interviews section of this site or click here to view it. Unfortunately Kasim's surname is spelt incorrectly throughout but what is amusing is that they've obviously looked at the Discography on KasimInfo.com as they mention Kasim playing on 102 albums! Kasim also receives two mentions in the Live Music Calendar part of the site! Click here to view the first (scroll down to Ken's Bar and Grill - his name is spelt incorrectly) and here to view the second (scroll down to Shank Hall - his name is spelt correctly).
21.30 - Kasim Sulton is now mentioned on the website of The Bitter End where he plays his gig on 18th August.
21.00 - Kasim Sulton gets a small mention on the Steve Plaec page of the WKLH website in advance of his interview tomorrow.
19.00 - Unfortunately Kasim Sulton will now NOT be playing the Tommy James gig in Camden, NJ on 16th August after all!
11.15 - A transcript of part of Kasim Sulton's Radio / Internet interview on Dory Doughty's show Digestible Decibels has been posted to the message board attached to Kasim Sulton's official website KasimSulton.com.
11.00 - There were a couple of posts on the the IWantMyIBack mailing list about Kasim's forthcoming gig at The Abbey Pub in Chicago.
10.30 - I added a page (complete with Set List and Review) to the News section of the site about Kasim Sulton's great gig last night in New York!
10.15 - Thankfully overnight four people e-mailed me and offered to take over the running of the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board so I'll set a couple of them up as Founders soon. Thanks too for all the kind messages that I've received. It certainly wasn't that I was getting disillusioned or anything else but simply that I won't have so much Internet access for a while. This website, KasimInfo.com, will not be affected in any way as thankfully I have a good friend who uploads all I send her but I just have to step down a bit from the board.
07.00 - I've stopped updating the This Day feature of the site. It will be resumed at the end of August.

20.30 - I posted a message to the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board to explain that I will be closing it on Monday 6th August. At present I CONSTANTLY monitor the board but, as I will be away for a lot of the rest of the year, I will be unable to do so. It is easy for anyone to get an anonymous Yahoo and cause trouble on the board so I think it best to delete the board (if you are in any doubt about what could be posted onto this board, I suggest you view the posts on Thursday on the Angry Todd Rundgren board). I originally set the board up in January 1999 to give fans of Kasim a forum to discuss him as there wasn’t really one back then. Now that it appears that more then the handful of people are posting on the board attached to Kasim’s official website, I suggest that people either post there or, for people who prefer somewhere unofficial, Jennifer Salyer's Kasim board. Alternatively if anybody has the spare time to take over the monitoring of the board please e-mail me and I will set it up, or feel free to set up another Kasim Sulton board on Yahoo and advertise the link there before Monday. Many thanks to everybody who has posted over the past two and a half years - when I started it I never dreamed that there would be 79 members and over 40,000 page views!
11.00 - I added yet another page to the News section of the site about the news that was posted earlier today to the KasimSulton Mailing List about Kasim Sulton playing another gig as part of Tommy James and The Shondells. Plus, the Future Appearances section of the site has full details.
10.00 - I added another page to the the News section of the site about Kasim Sulton's radio interview last night.
08.00 - I added a page to the the News section of the site about Kasim Sulton's gig last night as part of Tommy James and The Shondells.
06.00- On the messageboard of the Isle Of Q (on Universal Records), long time Utopia fan, Doug Kennedy states that he will fulfill one of his dreams when he sits in with Kasim for a couple of songs when Kasim plays his gig at The Tin Angel in Philadelphia on 15th August! Click here to see what Doug has written about the gig! (Follow the General Discussion link to "Doug to play with Utopian Legend". You need a user name but it's free and easy to join.)

09.00 - Somone posted yesterday on the Yahoo Joan Jett Mailing List about Kasim Sulton's forthcoming August gigs by saying, "Former Blackheart Kasim Sulton (bass for awhile in the mid-80's) will be doing a handful of solo acoustic shows in August" and someone else replied today with the comment,"Thanks for posting this. I was a big fan of Kasim Sulton's bass playing
with The Blackhearts. Learned a lot from him! I might even be able to make
that Chicago show!
07.00 - Overnight Kasim Sulton himself sent a message to the mailing list attached to his official website KasimSulton.com about his forthcoming gigs and interviews!

21.00 - Kasim Sulton was interviewed live tonight on WKDU 91.7 Drexel University's Radio Station which also streamed (badly!) on the Internet. Lots of Utopia and new Kasim music was played and Kasim was interviewed for about ninety minutes. A transcript of the interview will be added to this site later.
07.30 - With even the FBI warning about this worm that may affect websites from tomorrow night, I will be attempting to download the software to protect KasimInfo.com but IF the site is affected, it will be open fully again as soon as possible so please bear with me.
07.00 - I've added the last Kasim Sulton Trivia Question for this run and it's a tough one today. The answer will be posted tomorrow.
06.30 - Overnight (for me!) there was an interesting post on the message board attached to Kasim Sulton's official website KasimSulton.com about an appearance that Kasim made as part of Utopia on The Mike Douglas Show.

19.30 - Tickets went on sale today for the two Meat Loaf gigs that Kasim Sulton will be playing on 7th and 8th September at Caesars, Atlantic City, NJ! The direct link is on the Gigs page in the Future Appearances section of the site. I also updated the News section of the site to reflect this.
10.30 - I've added six more Todd Rundgren related links to the Links section of the site. That takes it up to 49 sites that mention Kasim Sulton! More to be added soon.
10.00 - I updated the News section of the site.
09.45 - I've moved the items prior to 13th July to another Blog page again. The link is at the bottom of this page.
09.00 - Just a reminder that Kasim's radio interview tomorrow (Tuesday) streams on the Internet. Click here to hear it. Listeners can Instant Message during this show and the IM name is "Request WKDU". Also during the show (from 7.00 until 8.00pm) there will be a chat for Kasim fans at the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board which anyone is welcome to join. (NO voice chat will be allowed as we all want to listen to Kasim!)

"Utopia/Meat Loaf/Rundgren veteran Kasim Sulton will be doing a special guest set on the acoustic guitar. He'll be doing some material from the new album he is working on and maybe some of his greatest hits from the old days-who knows? Kasim, co-lead singer and bassist for Utopia from 1976 to 91, also sings and plays bass for Meat Loaf on all his tours and was part of Todd Rundgren's
Power Trio Tour last year! Maybe you saw Kasim last year, right behind the Meat on VH1's StoryTellers last year, as he played bass and sang all harmonies and high notes for Mr. Loaf. Don't miss this! Come give Kasim your Utopian Salutations at The Triad Lounge, Friday August 3rd!"
