07.45 - Already today there have been four messages posted to the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board about Kasim Sulton's gig this Friday in Asbury Park!
07.30 - My server was down for a while this morning so I was unable to update the site first thing.

05/0201
23.55 - Today there were a few messages on the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board about Kasim Sulton's gig this Friday in Asbury Park!
23.50 - On Angry's Todd Rundgren and Utopia Yahoo Board today somebody asked if Kasim Sulton plays any Utopia songs at his gigs and this great reply (mini review) was posted: "I saw Kasim's first two solo shows and wish I could see all the rest...he did a wonderful new version of Set Me Free AND since that first show was so very successful, he came out to do an unplanned unrehearsed encore of It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference. For the second show, Patti Russo from Meat Loaf joined him onstage for that song. You can find clips of Kasim doing Set Me Free and IWHMAD on KasimInfo.com". Also today a couple of people mentioned on that board that they will be attending Kasim's Ohio gigs!
05.00 - Overnight Kasim Sulton received a couple of mentions on Angry's Todd Rundgren and Utopia Yahoo Board in connection to people looking forward to seeing him in Ohio (msg #2025 and #2026)!

05/01/01 T-Shirt Logo
08.15 - I added the logo that appears on the Kasim Sulton T-Shirts to the 2001 Solo Acoustic Tour page (and above).
07.30 - Well, TicketMaster now has two listings for Kasim Sulton but they are not the easiest things to find! From the front page of the site you have to do a search on Kasim Sulton in the events section (not venues or it doesn't bring up anything). There are two results: Kasim Sulton, listed as "Concerts - Rock and Pop" which shows the gig for The Saint, and Kasim Sulton of Utopia, listed as "Concerts - Alternative Rock" which shows the gig for Little Brothers!

04/30/01

04.30 - Overnight Kasim Sulton's name was mentioned a few times on a Meat Loaf Mailing List in connection to a discussion about the fact that a lot of Meat Loaf fans on that list don't know the individual band members own music or histories. I'm not going to repeat any of the posts here as most of his mentions (other than my own response)were just using Kasim's name as an example.

04/28/01
23.45 - Today there were two posts on the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board about where people hope Kasim will play gigs!

10.00 - There was a post on a Meat Loaf Mailing List in a discussion about StoryTellers that mentioned Kasim Sulton: "Meat Loaf did not put the new Neverland Express together, Kasim Sulton pretty much did (from what I understand) after a friend of his who was going to be one of the possible replacements, could not do the show, but recommended Ray Andersen and Tom Brislin for spots. Back to rehearsals for a second, since Meat was not available at the time, Patti Russo and Kasim did the main vocals on all possible songs for the evening, it was remarked Patti actually did Bat Out Of Hell and Kasim did things like A Kiss IS A Terrible Thing To Waste and such, etc."

04/26/01
23.55 - There were some more posts today on the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board today about the T-Shirts that will be available at Kasim's gigs. Also, amazingly, on 24th the board had 1,205 page views!

09.00 - Angry's Todd Rundgren and Utopia Yahoo Board had a post that mentioned Kasim Sulton yesterday! It said that "Sources say for people in Cleveland that Kasim will make a stop there"!

04/25/01
08.00 - Jett Petty has some great photos of Kasim Sulton at the Vernon Downs concert on the Power Trio Tour last year. Although in the photo album the shots look as though they're taken a long way back, click on the individual photos to see Kasim clearly.
06.30 - Good news! Kasim will have T-shirts available at his next show, on May 4th at The Saint in Asbury Park! They will be black, with his signature on the front (small, in the upper left breast area) in blue, and "Kasim Sulton, Solo Acoustic Tour 2001" on the back, also in blue. They'll be $15. If you can't make it to the gig, they will cost $18.95 via mail (shirts will be sent Priority mail, $3.95 covers postage). If you want to purchase a shirt by mail, write to KasimMusic@aol.com with "T-Shirts" as the subject.

It was also streamed on the internet, so anyone could listen anywhere in the world! KasimInfo.com was recommended on the radio show too!! Simultaneously about ten or twelve of us met up in the chatroom on the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board for a great chat!
19.30 - The UBL Artist Direct website has been changed to include one of the recent photos of Kasim Sulton (unfortunately without the bare chest this time!) instead of the twenty year old photo. Kasim's only official website KasimSulton.com is listed top of the list with KasimInfo.com listed second and being described as "The largest Kasim Sulton website on the Internet"! Click here for the list of ALL the Kasim Sulton websites.

23.55 - All day long there were loads of posts on a Todd Rundgren and a Glen Burtnik mailing list about the fact that Kasim Sulton's former manager (now legal adversary) posted the legal papers on her site. I'm not about to repeat them all here but the unanimous feeling was that that sort of thing should not have been posted onto a website or advertised in public, the phrase "shooting herself in her foot" comes to mind.
19.30 - There were several good, positive messages on the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board today about Kasim's new message on his official website and looking forward to the radio show on Sunday.
05.15 - By popular request, the Kasim's Messages section of the site will be reopened again soon!
04.15 - Kasim Sulton's former manager (now legal adversary) posted a link to legal papers to several Todd Rundgren, Utopia and Glen Burtnik mailing lists. The general consensus, both on and off list, could be summed up by the quote that "litigious people are worse than the sleaziest lawyers."

04.45 - Although I am not legally obliged to do so, for the sake of a peaceful life (and as I don't like receiving legal threats, even erroneous ones), I have removed all references to Kasim's first official (now NOT official) website and all direct name references of Kasim's former manager from the Blog page. Later today I will remove any remaining references off the rest of the site.

04/18/01

05.45 - Last Thursday (12th April), Kasim Sulton sent a message both to his official website KasimSulton.com and to this site KasimInfo.com. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, this message was late arriving here so I am only now reproducing it:
A message from Kasim Sulton:
Hi Everyone,
It's early Thursday morning here in Los Angeles. I just finished the second day of recording sessions for a new Meat Loaf CD. The new material that we've been working on sounds great and I'm sure all the M.L. fans will be delighted to hear what is promising to be both a cutting edge yet traditional Meat Loaf CD.
We've cut four tracks so far. Two with Meat Loaf producing, and two with producer Peter Mokran. Both myself and Tom Brislin are playing on these tracks along with Kenny Aronoff on drums. Kenny is not only the most 'in demand' drummer on the planet, he is also the funniest. He has us in stitches with stories about everyone he's worked with. I wish I could describe the stuff we've been doing in more detail but I'm sworn to secrecy about it so..... patience is a virtue. I'm sure no one will be disappointed with this CD.
On to a subject to which I can speak of....... Me! I was so pleased with last weeks show that I'm actually impatient to get home and perform on Saturday. To be honest, it had been so long since I played more than one or two songs by myself in front of an audience I was prepared to have to change some things about the show after the first one. I was met with such warmth and love, that the performance became an extension of the audience. So this Saturday should be interesting. I think I'll be a little more relaxed. I'm just as anticipatory as I was for the first show but slightly less nervous. It's funny, I can play in front of 150,000 people, as I did with Utopia one year in England, but put me in a room with 70 and I'm a wreck! Hmmm, intimacy problems? All the armchair psychologists can have a field day with that one. I just want everyone to smile.
So having said all this, I hope to see you all at the upcoming shows. I LOVE this.
Kasim

05.00 - Miriam has updated her page about Kasim Sulton on her Meat Loaf website.

04/15/01
16.00 - Kasim received a mention on a Todd Rundgren Yahoo Message Board: "Does any-one get V.H.1's second channel Classics? I saw a Joan Jett video, I Hate Myself For Loving You, and it was the version of the Blackhearts that Kasim played in, so he was in the video! I've only ever seen a pic on one of their C.D.'s with him , so it was pretty cool! I'm told they have played 1 Utopia video on there too, late night of course, but that's just heresay as I havent seen it myself! Never did understand how Kasim could do the Meat Loaf thing tho', but I'm sure that furthered his career greatly! And the Richie Sambora thing I never heard much about! Hope he does well solo! Still getting pumped for both of their {Todd, Kasim] Ohio appearences!"
15.00 - There was a message posted to a Todd Rundgren mailing list by Dorren Brennan about Kasim Sulton's gig last night: "Nothing to say but "HE'S BACKKKKKKKK" ......was in great voice sang in an upper range a little different from last week. Was tuned downed for the most part but kicked it at times and when he did it was like WOW. Patti Russo of Meat Loaf fame did It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference, funny she came out with a cheat sheet but it was cute, Patti did a great job harmonizing. Kas said how he was in LA all week recording with Meat and when Meat asked what he was doing as far as gigs so he had heard, he asked again... soooo what are YOU PLAYING????? Kas responded my own material ya know with me and my acoustic guitar and Meat says... you mean your doing a FOLK ACT??? Kas said ya like It's not like I am doing Puff The Magic Dragon. Any way, it was pretty funny. Kas was pretty comfy last week but he sat on his stool even more relaxed than last week. Well, I am not good at reviewing, as you all know I am not much of a writer but, if Kasim is playing a town near you please go and support him. He is well worth the trip. And you will feel like your with family. I will think of Kas tonight as I got a big hug and now I smell of his favorite cologne. One of my fav's smells as well, Sweet!!!!!!."
14.00 - There were some messages on the Kasim Sulton Yahoo Message Board about Kasim's briliant show at The Bitter End last night, including a link to three great photos of Kasim!

04/13/01
05.30 - A message from Kasim Sulton:
Hello Everyone,
Last day here in sunny L.A., that really hasn't been sunny at all. Cold too! El Nino? La Nina? Who knows. What is important though is the work thats been done over the past 4 days. All the Meat Loaf fans in the U.K. and the U.S. will be happy to hear that the new material is sounding amazing!
Although we've only cut 5 'basic tracks', you can usually tell where something is heading. This is going to be a really special record. Meat is excited and looking forward to recording more songs in the next few weeks. Looks like a winner from my vantage point.
In any case, home tomorrow just in time for my second solo show in N.Y.C. Last weeks went so well I'm sure this Saturday will a bit more relaxed on my side of the stage. I was hoping to add a new song to this weeks show but because of the travel time and work schedule, it wasn't in the cards. Instead, I opted to have a 'Special Guest' join me on stage for a song. No...... not him. You'll just have to wait and see/hear who it is. I'm happy to say that there are more shows coming up with others in the planning stages. It's looking good though guys. I know I only have one show under my belt right now, but it just feels so right to be doing this now, no matter what hurdle is thrown in my way.
For all of you celebrating a holiday this week or next, have a great one and be good to each other.
Love, Kasim

04.30 - I finally added the page for Kasim's gig last Saturday at Arlene Grocery. It contains the set list, reviews, photos and some video clips.
