Somebody Loves You Sometimes Love Is A Dangerous Thing There Goes My Inspiration Cliché The One Sure Thing Sacrifice ![]() Kasim with Rita Kopca and Janet Spahr
After Kasim played The One Sure Thing he did a bass demonstration with one of the other performers there, Kim Stone (the bass player with the band The Rippingtons). They jammed together for about 10 minutes and Kasim described it as "Interesting to say the least ... two guys seeing who could play faster!". Kasim then closed his set with Sacrifice.
Mini Review by Janet Spahr
The place was really big and nice. One stage with lights and great sound system. The MC was quite funny - never stopped talking.
So Kasim got up there - and said how he was not a guitar great - but he was a singer-songwriter and bass player....of course. But he said singer-songwriter with more confidence than in the past. And he said it matter of factly. I had to smile.
![]() He did a few songs. Started with the Nik Kershaw song - Sometimes Love is a Dangerous Thing - The One Sure Thing - Cliché - There goes my inspiration. Then he jammed on the bass with Kim Stone - another performer there. That really was cool. 2 separate jam type songs - improv.
![]() Then he took some questions - and I asked if he was gonna solo tour soon. He said yes - next year for sure. And he said there's a project in the works that everyone will be excited over - but it will be revealed in the next few months. And Ron (Todd's close buddy from Milwaukee) asked him why he wasn't selling any merch. He said he was actually selling his signature bass today and love and spirituality and good will, etc etc. Kasim said he is working on his self esteem or something to that effect - referring to not having his solo CD there. Then at the end he did Sacrifice.
