This was my favourite concert of the tour ….at least so far! The stage clock said two hours 51 minutes when they left the stage (at 11.10pm!) so it was certainly the longest. Meat Loaf seemed to be in a good mood again tonight, although a couple of people in “my crowd” said that his voice wasn’t as strong as at Manchester. Also three people noticed that he was (badly) miming again in the middle of Testify. As I was mainly watching Kasim through this song so I didn’t notice that myself.

Tonight even during Do It people started standing at the barrier (they usually wait until Life Is A Lemon) and it really does make for a good atmosphere.

In DeadRinger tonight instead of Meat Loaf saying to CC “kiss my ar@e” he showed her about a two inch square of his bare white bum.

Meat Loaf’s introduction to Testify went on and on tonight. When they did eventually get into the song Kasim sang at the front microphone for the verses but again the stand wasn’t in a good light.

There was also a long intro into All Revved Up. Meat Loaf does a drunken waffle about being stood up (thankfully he doesn’t drink as much during the show as he has) and tonight his story was that he was taking a girl to see a concert but that he cancelled. He then went on to say that this guy was supposed to be a sex god so he was obviously making fun of himself!

In You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth Meat Loaf found some poor guy who wasn’t singing so he went into the audience to get him to sing. He then kissed the guy’s wife to make him jealous. It’s all pure theatrics but most fans there seem to enjoy these stunts. Thankfully Kasim again had to get us to start singing!

The Couldn't Have Said It Better / Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire) / Midnight At The Lost And Found part of the concert is definitely my favourite part but tonight it was extended by them adding Did I Say That back into the set list too so that was wonderful. The absolute highlight of Meat Loaf’s part of the concert for me was Midnight At The Lost And Found as Kasim just played some amazing bass guitar in that! Meat Loaf just stood shaking some percussion instrument while Kasim just played and played (near the front of the stage too!). It was just brilliant! He also then sang the next line by himself too.

At the beginning of Frying Pan, Meat Loaf tried to get Paul Crook (who often runs around the stage) to run across once he had dropped his red handkerchief but it appeared that the only person in the venue who didn’t understand what he was supposed to do was Paul himself so he had to run about 4 times until he did get it right! Again, it’s all pure theatrics but most fans seem to enjoy these stunts as it makes the concert so different from just listening to a CD at home.

Paradise By The Dashboard Light was (relatively) short tonight thank goodness with just the whale and slapper impressions. During the “let me sleep on it part” Patti pretends to hit and kick Meat Loaf and it seems that she made contact tonight as she said that it hurt her more than it did him!

When Meat Loaf introduced Kasim tonight he said that he was “weighing in at 167 pounds” so he must have put on 19 pounds in two days (the meal before his solo set must have been massive!). At this point Kasim was vigorously mouthing that he was 150 pounds!

They then came back on stage for Anything For Love and Bat Out Of Hell and just massive applause from the crowd!

This was a four guitar concert for Kasim tonight as he played his orange metal / acoustic guitar for his opening set, his pearl guitar for most of the concert, his brown / black guitar for Did I Say That and his maroon guitar for Anything For Love and Bat Out Of Hell.

Roll on Glasgow on Saturday….
