Kasim walked on stage tonight wearing a jumper and jeans and not his usual stage gear as he has at all the other concerts. He said that he’d just had his dinner and decided to go on stage wearing that as Sheffield is “that kind of a place, a relaxed place” (“a sh!thole” someone remarked near me!).

After Kasim’s usual introduction he launched into Don’t Hold Me Back. Unfortunately the sound wasn’t perfect for this song and (at least where I was sitting) as there was a hiss from the speakers. Thankfully this cleared up for Kasim’s other two songs.

Next Kasim spoke about Quid Pro Quo (he got a bit confused by the years as he said that it was released last year!). Kasim also said that before Christmas he used to say that it was a good “stocking stuffer” but that now he can say that it makes a great Valentine’s present! Kasim then sang Before She Was Gone from the album.

Kasim’s final song was Sacrifice but he had to stop after a couple of bars to change the tuning of his guitar. Kasim’s voice sounded really good in this song and he really did receive a massive round of applause after his set tonight.
