Got to the Point Depot, Chris was very excited about meeting Kasim even before I picked up the passes, I was running away with myself. Anyway had a drink or twelve. Went up to our seats about 7.45pm, deadly seats, up on the balcony on Kasim’s side. Could see everything. Chris got beside herself when she saw a stool all on it’s own in front of the stage. I had texted Sue to inform her of the goings on.

Anywho, Kasim came on stage about 8.10pm. At that stage I had realised it really wasn’t safe for me to be sitting on the balcony! He sang Don’t Hold Me Back, Before She Was Gone, and Sacrifice. He sounded really good. Although I was the only person out of 9,000 people singing along, the crowd reacted very well to him.

Meat came on about 8.50pm, Wasted Youth blasted over the speakers, and out came Meat on a stretcher (gurney which Kasim told me it was called!), accompanied by Patti and CC in nurses outfits. He lay there for the whole of Wasted Youth, looking like he was really having a snooze! Lights go out, up jumps Meat and gets straight into Do It. Although It’s not my favourite, I have to say it looked brilliant on stage. Really cool effects.

Ok now were down to the ‘live’ stuff. Lemon sounded inaudible because the instruments were way too high for the vocals (note to sound engineer, please get your act together), Mercury Blues, love that song, I’m not gonna go through each song one by one, but DIST was fantastic. Meat got a huge roar from the crowd when he put on his Irish Viking Hat, which he had on in Dublin last year.

I was watching him real closely last night to see how he was holding up, there was a few times when I thought, oh sh!t, he’s gonna cut short, cause he was out of breath. It was scary biscuits for a few minutes. But a few puffs from the inhaler sorted him out. Then he went onto I’d Lie for you and himself and Patti on 2 stools up the front singing away, very cool. Paradise was good, although I’m not a big fan of it. Then band introductions were made, Patti’s name never came up on the screen, which Meat wasn’t to impressed with.

Band went off stage and came back with AFL. His voice was still holding up pretty well considering he hasn’t been in training for over 2 weeks Bat finished out the show, which had the crowd going bananas!!

The show lasted 2 hours 10 minutes. Very cool. Meat the legend.

Kasim did usual set, good reception. He was announced over the arenas PA system and a few round me said to the people they were with "its alright, he's good!" He got a good round of applause. Kasim was left of stage whole show other than Testify when he came to centre for a brief part. And I think he may have danced centre stage a couple of times too!

Entrance was amazing, Meat was wheeled on and played dead to the "Woke up screaming Stop" part of wasted youth speech. He quickly attached his mask and wheeled the stretcher to the side and Do It started.

Setlist changed a wee bit in terms of order, and I'd lie for you was put in. Meat said he wasn't going to lie to us that his legs and whole bopdy hurt and he needed to sit down. Said he had only been out of bed on saturday night for a one hour walk prior to Tuesday the day of the show. So him and Patti sat on a stool each for I'd Lie for You.

Finished of with AFL and Bat, no encore i think meat was wrecked. The show flowed, no stoppages, meat was there to do a job and he did it. Confetti instead came out during AFL.

Paul Crook seemed to have probs with his giutar during paradise, and with me being so close to stage, the raising chair thing for AFL didnt work properly. It wasn't until the last line of the song it strated to raise - after i heard Meat telling Patti to ge tup but she sat on. Meat didnt look happy at all. But at least it worked in the end.

They played Meats videos during the build up to the show. 2/3 aint bad got people singing and in the mood. Even through bat no one responed, but 2/3 isnt on the setlist. Going by last nights reception, im sure it would make a welcomed return.

Kasim drew a major reception when he told the crowd Meat was 100% fit for the show. He said it had been a very worrying 2 weeks for Meat Then Band, and the fans.

Thats all I can think of as of now, things will come back no doubt later.

It was a realy good show. His voice was amazing, i think Meat knew it too cuz he started showing off towards the end with his notes lol. He was also funny throughout too. His sense of humour is still there. I hope they keep the stretcher beginning if even only for another couple of shows. The reception was amazing when he rose out of it. Knowing Meat im sure he'll play it out a while longer!!!

2 hours 10 for his first show was good. Afterall, except the encore, it had everything all the other shows had plus I'd Lie for You extra. There was no messing about I got the opinion throughout, Meat was on to do a job and off again, and he did it.
