Kasim Sulton held an online chat with his fans in the Yahoo KasimSulton2 Chatroom tonight but only stayed for about forty minutes. Less fans than normal (about 25) attended. Unfortunately this was by far the most uninteresting chat I've attended as Kasim obviously had no real news to tell us and even apologized at the end for that. At one point Kasim's 8 year old son joined the chat although "Papa" did the typing!
The points that Kasim mentioned (in order) were:
Kasim said that he will be opening in Cleveland (even though Cyndi Lauper is listed as the opener at that concert!)
Kasim was at his sister's house when the big blackout struck ("we thought it was just her neighborhood")
Kasim said that he is looking forward to the concerts in Europe and Australia in February
Kasim mixed 6 tracks which will be added to the Australian release of Meat Loaf's album Couldn't Have Said It Better
Kasim thought that the Playgirl Todd Rundgren interview was "pretty lame"
Starting tomorrow Kasim has some "touch ups" to do for the mixing of the Mexico show which he believes will be on Direct TV
Kasim thinks that LiveDisc is a "great idea" and spoke to Alan Kovac about it
Kasim says that he only takes 2 suitcases and his studio on tour with him
In Europe Kasim thinks that they will be singing Did I Say That? and I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth)
Kasim is currently working on 3 new songs ("one of them is titled "More Like Me")
When asked about him liking working with wood Kasim said "Put it this way, before I logged on here, I was at Home Depot buying wood". Kasim said that he had built the walls and the ceiling of his studio himself
When asked about the crowd reaction on this tour, Kasim said "So far it has been ok, not too bad, not great. Last night was the best yet."
Despite rumors that Sanctuary Records have decided not to release a single from the album, Kasim thinks that the single Couldn't Have Said It Better will be in the stores this week.
Kasim said that the single went to #5 in Holland
When asked why the Good Morning America show was cancelled, Kasim said "He just couldn't keep the schedule as it was and do that GMA show, besides that was the day of the blackout"
Kasim said that all his spare time on the tour has been spent "trying to write"
Kasim believes that next Summer Meat Loaf will be touring US again
Kasim doesn't feel obligated to work with Meat Loaf - "I feel lucky"
