My First Meat Loaf Concert
Review by Debbie Leddy

The day started out at 5:30 headed to Congress Theatre hoping to get some dinner before waiting in line to see Kasim. Arrived at theatre and line had already started and my husband ran to get some quick tacos and ate them while listening to some die hard Meat Loaf fans singing some of his favorite hits. In the meantime I'm doing a little PR for Kasim - telling all who would listen that Kasim's music is great for the soul and his looks are great for the eyes. We finally get in and as our luck would have it, we get front row seats.

At first I feel alone in a sea of Meat Loaf fans but before long Kasim takes the stage. Kasim made the audience laugh when he said all the CD's are signed by him and if you put your name at the top then it's personalized already! It was great. Kasim's voice penetrated the air with 3 songs. Sacrifice, Don't hold me back, and Before She Was Gone. I enjoyed every minute of his music - Kasim's words seem to hit home and have meaning in my life. His words reach deep into my soul - thanks Kasim, keep on singing. The audience responses was great - they were cheering his name and really loved the songs. They were quiet and really listening to the words of his songs.

Then Meat Loaf played interesting music - interesting watching fans get into his music. Since we were in the first row - we got up close to Meat Loaf and his "gravy" or sweat as you would call it was dripping all over us.

ML introduced Kasim and made fun of his name. In light of the recent world events however it was uncalled for. Maybe it was just a joke between them but it came off wrong.

Pearl was a beauty with a great voice and fun to watch. Maybe she'll be big one day. Patti Russo was fun also and a great singer as well.

My husband came by default, Pebbles was unable to attend due to her husband's ill health. ML tossed a drum stick and my husband caught it. We were hoping for Kasim's guitar pic but got the drumstick instead.

Like a river which flows slow and steady, so is Kasim's music. Slowly people are hearing the passion which he displays in his smile and voice. Once you hear his songs you are hooked for life. Most artist CD's you like 1 or 2 songs - on Quid Pro Quo they are all a hit. Keep on singing Kasim - We Love You!
