The venue has 1,200 seats. They were sold out. Meat had
requested that the event be No smoking. There were folks going in and out
to smoke and I think a lot more were coming in than were going out. There was a standing room crowd at the back
of the room. My one complaint was that there were a few alcoholic folks
who were rather rude, loud and generally obnoxious.
Kasim was introduced and came to the front of the stage alone and began
singing and accompanying himself on the guitar. He sang Don't Hold Me
Back, Before She was Gone, and Sacrifice. The songs were good and he was good,
but the crowd kept talking and moving around. If I had been him, I think I
would have been a little upset. His set was almost like a throw-away.
The next morning as we were finishing breakfast, John Golden sat down at
the table next to us. He went through the buffet and sat back down. A few
minutes later Kas came in and sat down with him. Lisa and I were debating
whether or not to speak to them and tell them how much we enjoyed the
concert. I did not want to intrude on them, but Lisa wanted to at least
speak to them. Kas got up to load up his plate. We were trying to wait
until he came back, but he kept piling food on and we had to check out by 11:00,
so we finally just spoke to John and asked him to tell Kas how much we
enjoyed the concert and how much we liked Kas' song, Sacrifice.
